Ernesto de Sousa (1921-1988) foi um artista multidisciplinar português cuja obra se destacou pela defesa da experimentação e da liberdade criativa. A comunicação, enquanto prática teórica e instrumento de intervenção cultural, desempenhou um papel central no seu percurso, sobretudo no contexto pré e pós-Revolução de 1974. Entre as décadas de 1940 e 1960, participou ativamente no neorrealismo, dedicou-se ao estudo da cultura popular e teve um papel pioneiro no movimento cineclubista em Portugal. A partir dos anos 1970, teve uma participação decisiva na afirmação de uma nova arte experimental de vanguarda, contribuindo criticamente e na organização de exposições que marcaram a época.
