Emílio Távora Vilar nasceu em 1964, em Faro. Licenciado em Design de Comunicação pela Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, é Doutor em Gestão e Mestre em Ciências Empresariais pelo ISCTE, onde desenvolve investigação na área do Marketing.

É Professor Auxiliar na Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa e coordenador da licenciatura em Design de Comunicação. Colabora actualmente com o ISCTE e a Faculdade de Ciências Humanas da Universidade Católica.
