Émile Faguet

Émile Faguet (1847-1916), crítico literário e moralista francês, foi um importante colaborador de revistas e jornais franceses onde escrevia sobre história, literatura e filosofia. Extremamente culto, dono de uma subtileza e de um espírito crítico apurado, na sua obra Políticos e Moralistas do séc. XIX, revela-se ainda um fino psicólogo.A sua vasta obra trata principalmente de assuntos de crítica e de história literárias sobre autores como Voltaire, Flaubert, Rousseau, Nietzsche, contudo o seu interesse pela história das ideias, levou-a a escrever vários livros sobre filosofia e política.
