Emanuel Madalena é doutorado em Estudos Literários e mestre em Estudos Editoriais pela Universidade de Aveiro. É também mestre em Ciências da Comunicação pela Universidade do Porto. É investigador colaborador no Centro de Línguas, Literaturas e Culturas (CLLC), na intersecção entre a literatura infantil e os estudos de género e LGBTIQ+, especialmente no âmbito da diversidade de género. Foi coorganizador de vários livros no âmbito dos estudos literários e é autor do livro Sob a forma do silêncio (Porto Editora, 2019), finalista do Prémio Literário Casino da Póvoa/Correntes d’Escritas 2021.
