Édouard Schuré

Édouard Schuré (1841-1929) was born in Strasbourg. He was an important esotericist, musicologist, and novelist, author of plays, historical works, poetry, and philosophical treatises in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Through his esoteric studies of religions, he became a crucial writer for all those who yearn for complex, rich, and stimulating texts. He became world-renowned for his work. Hidden History of the World (no original: Les Grands Initiés: Esquisse de l’histoire secrete des religions), which has been continuously printed in several languages.
