Edmundo Bettencourt

"Nasceu na Ilha da Madeira em 1899 e morreu em Lisboa em 1973. Publicou 'O Momento e a Legenda' (1930) e 'Poemas de Edmundo de Bettencourt' (1962), mas durante o longo período que medeia entre estas duas obras colaborou em revistas, onde apareceram alguns dos seus melhores poemas. Em 1981, destacado da obra completa, editou-se "Poemas Surdos", decerto o cume da sua poesia".
