Edgar Silva

Edgar Freitas Gomes Silva, nascido a 25 de setembro de 1962, natural do Funchal - Madeira - Portugal, licenciado em Teologia pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisboa). No campo social, desenvolveu projetos com crianças de rua, no Movimento de Apostolado da Criança - MAC e na "Escola Aberta", e em iniciativas de desenvolvimento local em bairros marcados pelos problemas da ultraperiferia social. Na sequência da intervenção política, foi eleito deputado ao Parlamento da Região Autónoma da Madeira, em 1996. Publicou dois livros sobre questões do desenvolvimento humano e social: "Instrangeiros da Madeira" (2004) e "Repensar o desenvolvimento" (2007).
