Echo Bodine descobriu aos 17 anos que tinha dons mediúnicos e de cura. Estudou mediunismo durante dois anos e praticou os seus dons com amigos e familiares durante 12 anos antes de se estabelecer profissionalmente como médium e curandeira, em 1979. Mais tarde, começou também a ensinar os princípios do desenvolvimento mediúnico e da cura espiritual, tendo chegado a dirigir o Centre for Spiritual Development, no Minnesota. É uma presença constante nos media dos EUA e autora de vários livros de grande sucesso na área da espiritualidade.
