Duncan Simpson é licenciado em Estudos Europeus pela London School of Economics e doutorado em Estudos Portugueses e Brasileiros pelo King’s College, de Londres. Tem concentrado a sua investigação nas relações entre o Estado Novo e as diversas áreas da sociedade, destacando-se, na sua produção académica, a obra A Igreja Católica e o Estado Novo Salazarista (Edições 70, 2014). É atualmente investigador do Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa (ICS-UL).
