Donatella di Pietrantonio vive em Penne, Itália. Dentista pediátrica de formação, dedica-se à escrita desde a infância. A sua obra já conquistou o público e a crítica mundiais, estando publicada em 35 países. Já lançado pela ASA está o seu romance A Filha Devolvida (L’arminuta), que foi galardoado com o prémio Campiello e adaptado ao cinema.
A Idade Frágil, o seu livro mais recente, venceu o Prémio Strega Giovani, cujo júri é constituído por adolescentes entre 16 e 18 anos de mais de cem escolas secundárias, e o Prémio Strega, o mais importante galardão literário italiano.
