O autor da obra O Escuro e a Claridade nasceu a 22 de junho de 1994 e é natural da cidade de Vila Nova de Gaia, distrito do Porto. Cresceu e sempre viveu nessa cidade. Diogo Pereira da Costa é licenciado em Direito desde julho de 2018, pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade do Porto, e advogado desde abril de 2021. O autor desde cedo começou a escrever poesia, fruto talvez do amor que nutre desde criança pela música. Tem, atualmente, quatro poemas da sua autoria publicados em antologias de poesia.
