É Doutor em Direito pela FDUL, onde concluiu a licenciatura e o mestrado.
Foi membro da comissão executiva do Código das Sociedades Comerciais Anotado (CSC Clássica) e da comissão de redação da Revista de Direito das Sociedades (RDS).
É membro da associação Friends of the Hamburg Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, da Associação Luso-Alemã de Juristas (Deutsch-Lusitanische Juristenvereinigung), da Associação Portuguesa de Arbitragem e do Governance Lab, grupo de investigação jurídica e reflexão crítica sobre temas relacionados com o governo das organizações.
