Derek B. Miller é o diretor do Policy Lab, um instituto internacional de "design político" que se dedica a ajudar organizações a conseguirem um maior impacto social através do design. Doutorado em Relações Internacionais pela Universidade de Genebra, concluiu um mestrado em Estudos sobre Segurança Nacional na Universidade de Georgetown. Vive em Oslo, com a mulher e os dois filhos.
