Deanna Hurtubise é autora de dois livros ilustrados, quatro livros de ficção histórica e dois livros de memórias. Também é poeta. Ensinou francês no ensino secundário durante 25 anos e atualmente modera duas classes de conversação em francês para alunos reformados na Universidade de Cincinnati. Quando não está a escrever, a ensinar ou a brincar com o seu cão Pidgie Schnoodle, gosta de passar tempo com os seus três filhos e oito netos.
