David Uclés (Úbeda, 1990), licenciado e mestre em Tradução e Interpretação, é, além disso, escritor, músico e desenhador. Publicou os romances A Península das Casas Vazias (2024), Emilio y Octubre (2020) e El llanto del león (2019; Prémio Complutense de Literatura). A Península das Casas Vazias, narrado em tom de realismo mágico, é fruto de quinze anos de trabalho e de uma exaustiva viagem de documentação e memória pela geografia espanhola. Para a sua criação, recebeu as bolsas Leonardo e Montserrat Roig.
Em 2026, recebeu o Prémio Nadal de Romance pela sua obra mais recente, La ciudad de las luces muertas.
