David Safier nasceu em Bremen, em 1966.
Conhecido guionista de séries de televisão de êxito, como Mein Leben und Ich (A Minha Vida e Eu), Nikola e Berlim, Berlim, foi galardoado com o Prémio TV da Alemanha, bem como com um Emmy, nos Estados Unidos.
Vive e trabalha em Bremen.
Maldito Karma (Planeta, 2011), o seu primeiro romance, foi um êxito internacional que vendeu mais de um milhão e quinhentos mil exemplares na Alemanha e que conta com várias edições em diversos países. Em Portugal, em poucos meses chegou às cinco edições.
Jesus ama-me é uma nova aposta do autor na Planeta, estando prevista a sua transposição para o cinema.
