David Anthony Durham nasceu em Nova Iorque no ano de 1969. Venceu inúmeros prémios com os livros Gabriel’s Story, Walk Through Darkness, e Pride of Carthage. Com a publicação de Acácia, Durham ganha protagonismo e torna-se um autor em ascensão no mundo literário. Acolheu as melhores críticas no Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, SciFi Site and Fantasy Magazine, New York Times e Library Journal, sendo considerado a grande revelação dos últimos anos na Fantasia. A saga Acácia está a ser publicada em mais de 10 países e encontra-se em desenvolvimento para o cinema. Actualmente, Durham vive com a mulher e os filhos na Califórnia e ensina na Universidade em Fresno.
