Dasa Drndic

Daša Drndic (1946-2018) was born in Zagreb, in present-day Croatia, then part of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. She graduated from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, and worked as a translator and university professor in Canada and at the University of Rijeka, Croatia, where she received her doctorate. Her novel Belladonna He won the Warwick Prize in 2018 and was a finalist for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Literary Prize. In 2019, posthumously, the British newspaper The guardian She was distinguished as one of the ten names that would mark the new European literature.
