Darin Strauss nasceu em Long Island na cidade de Roslyn Harbor. É escritor, guionista e professor de escrita criativa na Universidade de Nova Iorque (NYU). É autor de vários bestsellers, entre eles, Chang and Eng, The Real McCoy e More Than it Hurts You. Darin Strauss é casado, pai de dois gémeos e vive em Brooklyn. Metade da Vida é o seu primeiro livro publicado em Portugal.
