Conde de Sabugosa

António Vasco de Melo, 9.º conde de Sabugosa (1851-1923), foi diplomata, alto funcionário do Estado português e mordomo-mor da casa da Rainha Dona Amélia de Orleães. Autor de extensa obra, nomeadamente dos livros Neves d’Antanho (1910), Donas de Tempos Idos (1912) e Gente d’Algo (1915), fez parte dos Vencidos da Vida, grupo intelectual com afinidades à Geração de 70. Privou com a intelectualidade portuguesa da época, entre a qual Maria Amália Vaz de Carvalho, Eça de Queirós, Guerra Junqueiro e Ramalho Ortigão.
