Cláudia Bacalhau was born in 1985 in Lisbon. After completing her Master's degree in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, she completed her medical internship (specialized training) in Ophthalmology. She was a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon and at the Lisbon School of Health Technologies, where she taught Anatomy, Physiology and Anatomophysiology of the Visual System. As an ophthalmologist, she practices clinical medicine and surgery in adults and children. fellow of European Council of Ophthalmology (European certification). Mother of a boy who inspired this work, she pursued postgraduate studies in Children's Literature at the Catholic University of Portugal.
