Christopher Lascelles nasceu em Londres em 1971 e estudou Línguas Modernas e História na Universidade de St. Andrews, na Escócia. Depois de se formar, passou quatro anos na Rússia, a trabalhar para uma editora, num período de agitação durante o qual viu Moscovo cercada por tanques do exército.

Saindo da Rússia pouco antes do novo milénio, estudou Gestão na INSEAD Business School em França, antes de regressar a Inglaterra, onde se envolveu no mundo das mudanças climáticas e das startups. Desde muito jovem que se interessou por História e como esta tem afetado o mundo em que vivemos.
