Cecília Pedro nasceu em Lisboa e cresceu numa vila no coração de Portugal, onde se deixou encantar pelas histórias e pelos sons da natureza. Licenciou-se em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas e lecionou em vários níveis de ensino. Mais tarde, concluiu uma pós-graduação que lhe permitiu ensinar inglês no 1.º ciclo, onde descobriu uma nova fonte de inspiração: as crianças. Apaixonada por literatura infantil, contos fantásticos e palavras com vida própria, escreveu O Lago das Rãs Cantoras, o seu primeiro livro infantil, publicado pela Oficina da Escrita.
