Cecília Carmo é doutorada em Contabilidade pela Universidade de Aveiro e Universidade do Minho, desde 2014. Docente da área científica da Contabilidade do ISCA-UA, desde 1997, onde leciona unidades curriculares de contabilidade financeira, contabilidade das sociedades, simulação empresarial e relato não financeiro, e orienta dissertações de mestrado e teses de doutoramento. Exerceu diversos cargos de gestão no ISCA-UA, como o de diretora da licenciatura em Contabilidade (2015–2022) e diretora-adjunta da Comissão Executiva (2019–2023), sendo atualmente membro do Conselho de Escola do ISCA-UA.
