Catarina Barreira de Sousa was born in Albi in 1977. She lived in Bordeaux, Chaves, Porto, and Coimbra, where she studied Modern Languages ​​and Literatures (Portuguese and French) and General Linguistics. Besides teaching, she dedicated herself to writing school grammars and to photography. Currently, she lives in Lausanne, where she teaches Portuguese for the Camões Institute. In that city, she resumed her studies of Spanish, working on the works of Gil Vicente. She is also a professor of Portuguese in the Ibero-American department of the University of Fribourg, where she began research on travel literature. Simultaneously, she participated in two amateur theatre projects. Alice in Gil Vicente's Land It's his first novel.
