Catarina Pinheiro nascida em Santarém, cresceu entre a lezíria e a serra, onde passava as férias na casa dos avós. Rumou a Coimbra, onde escolheu estudar Biologia e decidiu ser professora para partilhar com os mais novos o seu fascínio pelo mundo natural. Mais tarde, a viver no Algarve, frequentou o curso de mestrado para aprofundar os conhecimentos em Geologia.
Começou a escrever histórias para facilitar a aprendizagem dos processos e fenómenos naturais por parte dos seus alunos.
Os seres vivos que mais admira são as plantas e a sua palavra favorita é «porquê».
