Catarina Gomes

Catarina Gomes was born in the early 1980s and lives in Porto. She studied Communication Design at FBAUP and later Illustration and Animation at IPCA. Her interest in illustration arose in 2004 when she was in Bratislava, influenced by the exhibitions she saw, the illustrated albums she bought, and the free time she had to experiment with new techniques while recounting the adventures that took place there. Since 2013 she has worked as a designer and illustrator, and also teaches.
Furthermore, she likes old things, dried flowers in vases, sun and cold together on the same day, pear with cornbread and apple with cheese, sketching from scratch, restaurants with paper towels, writing down the things her daughter tells her (@ascoisasqueeladiz) and, like almost everyone else, "eating, drinking and strolling in the street"!
