Carmen Zita Ferreira é natural de Ourém e nasceu no ano 1974.
Estudou na Universidade Nova de Lisboa – Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, tendo concluído naquela instituição em 1997 a Licenciatura em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas – Estudos Portugueses, em 1999 a Pós-graduação no Ramo de Formação Educacional e em 2002 a Pós-graduação em Cultura Portuguesa Contemporânea. É Mestre em Ciências Documentais, na variante de Bibliotecas e Centros de Documentação, pela Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias de Lisboa, com a Dissertação "Biblioterapia aplicada a idosos: um novo desafio para as bibliotecas públicas portuguesas" (2013). Na Trinta por uma linha publicou «O Bicho de sete cabeças - história de uma eleição democrática» (2010), «Dois dedos de conversa» (2013).
