Carme Solé Vendrell (Barcelona, Espanha, 1944) Estudou pintura na Escuela Massana de Barcelona, tendo já ilustrado mais de 700 títulos e dado conferências e cursos de ilustração um pouco por todo o mundo. É sócia fundadora da Asociación Profesional de Ilustradores de Cataluña, colabora com revistas infantis e faz trabalhos de cenografia e dramaturgia, a par da cartelaria, animação e pintura. Recebeu inúmeros galardões: Janusz Korczak 1970, Prémio Nacional de Ilustração 1979 (Espanha), Catalònia 1984, Critici in Erba 1992, Octogone la Fonte 1992, Creu de Sant Jordi 2006, Prémio Nacional de Cultura/BD 2012 (Espanha), Prémio Nacional de Ilustração 2013 (Espanha) pelo conjunto da sua obra.
