Carlos Melo Ferreira

Carlos Melo Ferreira holds a degree in Law from the University of Lisbon (1974) and a PhD in Communication Sciences - Cinema, from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Nova University of Lisbon (2002).
He was an Assistant Professor at the Porto Higher School of Arts, where he taught Film History, Film Analysis, History of Portuguese Cinema and Film Theories in the Bachelor's Degree in Cinema and Audiovisual; Visual Anthropology and Semiology and Semiotics in the Bachelor's Degree in Design and Multimedia Communication; and Film History and Theory in the Master's Degree in Directing - Film and Television.
He was a visiting professor in the Master's program in Audiovisual Communication at the School of Music and Performing Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.
He participated in international conferences, colloquia, and meetings, and led several thematic seminars and workshops on film.
He is an Integrated Researcher at the Arnaldo Araújo Center for Studies, FCT Unit in the area of ​​Artistic Studies.
He has hundreds of articles and essays on cinema published in the cultural press and the specialized press.
He created a blog about film in 2012, which he maintained for five years.
