Carlos María Domínguez (1955) é argentino, mas reside desde 1989 em Montevideu. Romancista, crítico literário e jornalista, publicou anteriormente dois romances, três biografias e vários livros de investigação jornalística, um dos quais lhe valeu o Prémio Nacional do Ministério de Educação e Cultura do Uruguai. A Casa de Papel obteve o prémio "Lolita Rubial" e está traduzido para inglês, francês, italiano, alemão e holandês.
