Carlos Daniel de Bessa Ferreira Alves nasceu em Paredes em 1970. Licenciado em Sociologia, começou a carreira de jornalista na Rádio Comercial em 1989. Na RTP desde 1991, é um dos mais conhecidos pivots portugueses. Após uma breve passagem pela SIC, entre 2000 e 2001, foi subdiretor de informação da RTP (entre 2001 e 2006), diretor-adjunto da RTPN (entre 2008 e 2010) e é atualmente subdiretor da RTP Porto. Além do "Jornal da Tarde", apresenta o programa de política "As Palavras e os Actos". Futebolista do Paredes nas camadas jovens e jogador de hóquei em patins, foi dirigente do clube no ano em que se sagrou campeão nacional da III Divisão. Reconhecido pelo conhecimento que tem do futebol, foi comentador de futebol no programa "Grande Área" e pivot do "Trio d'Ataque". Neste momento comenta os jogos da Liga dos Campeões na mesma RTP.
