Carlos Campaniço nasceu na aldeia de Safara, no concelho de Moura. Aí viveu até ingressar na universidade, onde cursou Línguas e Literaturas Modernas. É também mestre em Culturas Árabe e Islâmica e o Mediterrâneo, tendo obra publicada sobre a matéria.
Profissionalmente, é programador artístico.
Publicou vários romances desde 2007, entre eles: Os Demónios de Álvaro Cobra (Vencedor do Prémio Literário Cidade de Almada), Mal Nascer (Finalista do Prémio LeYa e vencedor do Prémio Mais Literatura promovido pela revista Mais Alentejo), As Viúvas de Dom Rufia, Velhos Lobos e agora A Cinco Palmos dos Olhos.
