Carlos Bessa nasceu em Viana do Castelo no ano de 1967, cresceu nos arredores do Porto e vive, desde meados de 1990, nos Açores, onde trabalha. Colabora com a secção de livros do semanário Expresso e já publicou vários livros de poesia, nomeadamente Legenda (1995), Termómetro. Diário (1998), Olhos de Morder Lembrar e Partir (2000), Lançam-se os Músculos em Brutal Oficina (2000) e Em Trânsito (2003).
