Carla Garrido nasceu no Porto, a 08 de outubro de 1973. Licenciada em Engenharia Publicitária pela Universidade Fernando Pessoa, esteve durante vários anos ligada à área da Comunicação, embora a sua paixão tenha sido desde sempre o Jornalismo e a Escrita. Ser mãe do Daniel Maria foi o motivo que a levou a dar asas à imaginação, improvisando histórias para o adormecer. Com base no lema de que «todo o ser humano deve plantar uma árvore, ter um filho e escrever um livro», lançou se neste novo desafio da escrita para as crianças.
