Brian O’Leary foi cientista-astronauta na NASA e professor assistente da cadeira de Astronomia na Cornell University, contemporâneo de Carl Sagan. Leccionou Física na Princeton University e foi assistente de Tecnologia na Universidade da Califórnia. Ao longo de mais de quinze anos investigou, proferiu conferências e escreveu extensivamente sobre novos paradigmas da ciência. Viu publicados mais de uma centena de artigos de natureza técnica em reputadas revistas cientificas e em páginas culturais de publicações generalistas de todo o mundo.
