Boris Hessen

He was born in 1883 in Ukraine. He studied physics in Edinburgh, Saint Petersburg, and Moscow. He fought in the Red Army and joined the Communist Party in 1919. An active defender of the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics, he was arrested and executed in 1936.
