Bertrand Westphal

Bertrand Westphal é Professor de Literatura Comparada na Universidade de Limoges, na qual lidera o grupo de investigação "Espaces Humains et Interactions Culturelles" ["Espaços Humanos e Interacções Culturais"]. É o promotor da geocrítica, descrita por Robert Tally como "uma nova prática crítica adequada à compreensão da nossa condição espacial, na atualidade". É autor de numerosos trabalhos sobre geocrítica; literatura austríaca; o Mediterrâneo (L'Œil de la Méditerranée, Aube, 2005), e sobre teoria do romance. Desenvolve trabalho interdisciplinar e colabora regularmente com designers, arquitetos e geógrafos.
