Behrouz Boochani

Behrouz Boochani é licenciado pelas Universidade Tarbiat Moollem e Universidade Tarbiat Modares, ambas em Teerão. Mestre em Ciência Política, Geografia Política e Geopolítica, este jornalista curdo-iraniano é igualmente escritor, professor académico, ativista cultural e cinematógrafo. Escritor da revista em língua curda Werya e membro honorário da PEN International, tem visto o seu trabalho reconhecido ao ser galardoado com diversos prémios: Prémio de Comunicação Social atribuído pela Amnistia Internacional da Austrália em 2017; Prémio Simpósio de Justiça Social da Diáspora; Prémio Empty Chair da Liberty Victoria em 2018 e Prémio Anna Politvoskaya para o jornalismo. O autor publica com regularidade no Guardian e tem textos publicados em publicações como The Saturday Paper, Huffington Post, New Matilda, The Financial Times e The Sidney Morning Herald. Realizou igualmente, em parceria com Arash Kamali Sarvestani, em 2017, a longa metragem Chauka, Please Tell Us the Time. Colaborou na peça de Nazanin Sahamized, Manus. Encontra-se detido há seis anos na Ilha de Manus.
