Bárbara Reis é jornalista do Público desde 1989. Trabalhou nas secções Internacional e Sociedade e foi correspondente em Nova Iorque entre 1995 e 2000. Passou tantas horas nos corredores da ONU por causa das negociações sobre Timor-Leste que acabou por aterrar em Díli com um passaporte das Nações Unidas. Em Timor (2000-2002), integrou a missão UNTAET e foi porta-voz de Sérgio Vieira de Mello, administrador transitório até à independência. Regressou ao Público no fim de 2002: editou a secção de Cultura (2002-2007) e o suplemento P2 (2007-2008), e foi diretora do jornal (2009-2016). Hoje é redatora principal do Público.
