Augusto Monteiro é natural de Bragança, mas vive em Coimbra há muitos anos. É professor aposentado. Autor de várias obras publicadas, entre as quais se destaca "três estórias (pouco) doces" (Prémio da Associação Portuguesa de Escritores e Prémio da literatura infanto-juvenil da APE).
