Artur Correia (1932-2018) was born in Lisbon. An art director and author of comic books, he collaborated with various publications for children and teenagers, such as Knight Errant, The Spark, Blinking lights, Fungagá da Bicharada, between others.
At Bertrand Editora, he brought history and literature to life through unforgettable comic book editions, such as... A Merry History of Portugal (2 vols.) Superheroes from the History of Portugal (2 vols.) and a brilliant adaptation ofThe Romance of the Fox, a work by Aquilino Ribeiro that was later adapted into animation in his studio.
In 1965, he began his career as an animation director, winning over a dozen national and international awards. The award at the Annecy Film Festival played a significant role in the founding of his own studio in 1973. Animation and comics remained his professional passion until the end.
