Ariana Franklin nasceu em Devon e, como o seu pai, tornou-se jornalista. Casou, criou duas filhas e, actualmente, dedica-se ao estudo da história medieval e à escrita. Um romance que se desenrola no século XII, o seu período favorito, foi considerado a melhor pesquisa do ano da sua publicação pela BBC e pelo historiador Dr. David Starkey. O Anjo da Morte é o seu primeiro thriller histórico.
