António Manuel de Paula Saraiva

António P. Saraiva nasceu em Lisboa em 1944. Licenciou-se em agronomia e em arquitetura paisagista. Durante toda a sua vida tem-se dedicado ao estudo das plantas e das paisagens, tendo trabalhado desde 1971 nos Serviços de Urbanismo e no Serviço de Jardins da Câmara Municipal de Lisboa. Em 1985 partiu para Macau, onde foi responsável pelo Serviço de Jardins dessa Cidade.
Convicto de que não se ama o que não se conhece, o autor escreveu o livro As Árvores na Cidade / The Trees in the City para que os cidadãos conheçam e amem as suas árvores, e para que os autarcas e os técnicos que têm a missão de cuidar delas possam beneficiar da sua longa experiência.
