ANTÓNIO MANUEL BAPTISTA é Professor Catedrático de Física da Academia Militar. Dirigiu o Laboratório de Isótopos do IPO. Trabalhou no Medical Research Council e no Royal Cancer Hospital, de Londres. Graduado pela International School of Nuclear Science and Engineering, Estados Unidos. Foi Professor de Medicina Nuclear da Michigan State University. Os seus trabalhos de investigação distribuem-se por várias disciplinas. Publicou estudos e artigos em várias revistas científicas internacionais. Pela sua brilhante e continuada actividade de divulgação na rádio, na televisão e na imprensa foi distinguido com o Prémio da Imprensa (1969) e o Prémio Vídeo da Televisão (1981).
