Antonio Manetti

Antonio T. Manetti nasceu em Florença em 1423 e morreu na mesma cidade em 1497. Membro da elite política florentina, matemático, astrónomo e historiador da arte, escreveu uma biografia de Filippo Brunelleschi que foi fonte para os escritos de Giorgio Vasari. A sua versão de A Novela do Gordo Entalhador, que faz díptico com a sua Vida de Brunelleschi, é a mais conhecida e literariamente mais elaborada deste famoso texto que conta a beffa (partida) de que foi vítima o entalhador Manetto di Jacopo Ammanatini.
