Docente no Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica da Universidade de Aveiro e investigador do Centro de Tecnologia Mecânica e Automação (TEMA). É também investigador colaborador do LIMATB, da Université de Bretagne-Sud, França, e do Centro de Engenharia Mecânica da Universidade de Coimbra (CEMUC). A sua área de investigação centra-se na otimização em engenharia com especial destaque para problemas inversos.
