António Correia de Campos viveu durante mais de cinquenta anos ligado à saúde. Nasceu em Torredeita – Viseu em 1942. Estudou em Viseu, Beira (Moçambique), Lisboa, Coimbra, Rennes e Baltimore (EUA). Foi técnico superior, dirigente, professor, investigador, promotor de ciência e consultor nacional e internacional. Foi eleito deputado municipal, deputado à Assembleia da República, deputado ao Parlamento Europeu e presidente do Conselho Económico e Social. Por quatro vezes foi membro do Governo, em duas delas ministro da Saúde. Escreveu uma dúzia de livros sobre temas de saúde e de administração, uma centena de artigos técnicos e científicos e várias centenas de artigos na imprensa generalista.
