Poeta popular português, António Fernandes Aleixo nasceu em 1899, em Vila Real de Santo António, e morreu em 1949. Foi um grande cultor da quadra, que improvisava com grande facilidade e engenho. Os seus poemas foram recolhidos por Joaquim Peixoto de Magalhães e publicados com o título de Este Livro Que Vos Deixo, em 1969.
