Annette Herfkens

Annette Herfkens é a única sobrevivente de um desastre de avião em 1992 no Vietname. Uma turbulência repentina e a posterior queda da aeronave tiraram a vida ao seu noivo, Willem van der Pas. Ele era o seu melhor amigo, namorado da faculdade, e alma gémea. Annette passou oito dias sozinha na selva no meio dos mortos apenas com água da chuva para sustentá-la. Nasceu na Venezuela de pais holandeses. Foi criada na Holanda. Depois de um estágio em Santiago de Chile, tornou-se estagiária executiva no ING Bank, que a mandou para Nova Iorque e Londres. A seguir mudou-se para o Banco Santander em Madrid. Foi promovida a diretora e sete anos mais tarde enviada para Nova Iorque, onde vive atualmente com a família.
